Helios Opens Jazz Festival!

The Helios Jazz Orchestra will open the St. Petersburg College Jazz Festival on Thursday, January 29. The big band (directed by David Manson) will feature guest artist Sue Terry on saxophone along with the regular members of the band.

Sue Terry has performed with Dr. Billy Taylor, Clark Terry, Al Jarreau, Walter Bishop, Jr., Chaka Khan, George Duke, Hilton Ruiz, Irene Reid, Juan Carlos Formeil, Dr. John, Teri Thornton, Mike Longo, and Dianne Reeves, among others. She has appeared as a jazz soloist with the National Symphony, The Brooklyn Philharmonic, and The New York Pops conducted by Skitch Henderson.

The concert begins at 7:30 PM at the Music Center at SPC. Admission is $10 at the door. Call (727) 341- 4301.

Helios concert November 18

The Helios Jazz Orchestra will perform at the St. Petersburg College Music Center on Tuesday, November 18 at 7:30 PM. The big band will feature vocalists Rita Wilson and Joanna Rose.

The Helios Jazz Orchestra is featured on a Jazz in the Stacks concert - Tuesday, October 21 at 7:30 PM at the West St. Petersburg Public Library. This free concert features vocalists Rita Wilson and Joanna Rose.
